The Dutch Gaming Authority has officially renewed the operating license for Play North’s Kansino online casino brand. The decision allows the platform to continue serving players in the Netherlands for another five-year term.
The Kansspelautoriteit confirmed that the renewal follows a comprehensive review of the operator's documentation against updated regulatory standards. Play North is now authorized to maintain its presence in the Dutch jurisdiction until October 2031. This marks one of the first license extensions granted since the market's initial five-year permits began expiring.
Expansion into the Portuguese Market
Alongside the Dutch renewal, Play North recently secured a three-year online gambling license for Portugal through its Play Jogo subsidiary. Greg Papanastasiou, the company's chief risk and compliance officer, stated that the renewal demonstrates a commitment to responsible gaming. He noted that Kansino was designed specifically for Dutch players to provide a safe and premium experience.
